My parents used to regale us with tales of fabulous roadtrips to Alsace, the region of France closest to the German border. When the time came to decide where to go on our second side trip during our visit this was an easy choice. Here we are, entering Lembach, home to the famous Auberge du Cheval Blanc, which sadly was closed on both nights we would spend in Alsace.
Nevertheless, this is a gorgeous little township, so we went for a big stroll, taking in the quaint architecture and serenely beautiful graveyard.
